With only 1 year experience of using AppSheet in my daily ERP need of managing the business I'm totally in love this platform: easy to create and use, a bit more complex in terms of more advance UX or data display's need - but with our current modest SME operating module, AppSheet delivers great results (especially with their latest move offering it free for Google Workspace Users).
  • Useful Community with instant help / advices
  • Lots of samples for beginners to play with
  • Proactive Help Desk
  • Video Display
  • Calendar Display can be more clear / detail
Suitable:
- SME, moderate team.
- Lots of field works.
- High turn over rate.
- Many different departments / small groups require lots of team work
Note suitable:
- Big companies with huge users.
- Complex UX / information display needed
- Too much confidential protocol required for internal data protection

I have a problem with data recollecting in the field, and i learn to use AppSheet to solve this problem creating AppSheets for a diverse kind of tasks, like sugarcane planting , sugarcane harvesting, sprays and sugarcane fertilization. I like a lot AppSheet and it's flexibility to create apps for diverses tasks without knows in programing. I use the data recollecting by the app to make some graphics.
  • flexibility
  • accesibility
  • speed
  • Icons and details in UX could be better
AppSheet, based in my short experience, could be appropriate in cases where you need to recollect data from users or employees. AppSheet allows you to work with diverse kind of data and diverse kind of industry. I use it for digitalize field data in a spreadsheet and automatize graphics in data studio or power BI.

Appsheet really helps simplify complex tasks. Appsheet helped me in prototyping a near-perfect application. Thank you Appsheet
  • create apps without/minimal coding
  • easily use
  • easily to update apps prototype
  • improve lookup search
  • advance report manager
  • different font format
  • extracted code
  • more ux feature
I use Appsheet as a tool for making sample applications which will later be developed further. But sometimes, with Appsheet is also enough for my partner. I like to use Appsheet because it's easy, simple and can be connected to a cloud database. This makes the application that I build closer to perfection.

AppSheet is one of the biggest enablers for a small business like ours. We have gone paperless on the key aspects of Education Management for an Art School for children that we manage. e.g. We went beyond taking Attendance as Present/Absent/Tardy etc and included Work done in the class as a key parameter. This enables the teachers to monitor progress as she/he enter attendance. Stock Management, Slot Management, Uploading Completed Work into a Gallery, etc are some of the best uses that we have had so far. I can't stop thanking the team for having created this Intuitive gem of a platform. BTW, I have tried PowerApps, Caspio, etc, and could not go beyond one day of use because am hooked to the simplicity, intuitiveness, and overall "awesomeness" of AppSheet. Moreover, community support is the other positive. You get all the answers. You get to see new feature requests being addressed, clean workarounds, etc. Overall, really really pleased with it.
  • Quick to setup.
  • Simple to use.
  • Works on multiple platforms on the go.
  • Great documentation and support.
  • Allows one to be really creative.
  • Once the tables / UX Views get way too many in number, it can become a little daunting to manage. This part of the UX may need something really smarter.
  • Ability to Undo.
  • Could provide more UI Look and Feel options. BTW, the new Graphs look great, but have some bugs, while the new INPUT() feature is a great addition too.
AppSheet in my opinion is a great enabler, especially for small businesses. Am not too sure about Scaling up though. As such, I did not find it limiting as far as my needs were concerned so far. Licensing could be made more affordable for countries like India. There could be more slabs e.g. Let's say 10-15 people company could be asked to pay lesser than the fee for 15-20.

We are developing various rapid prototypes and variants for a planned mobile app.
  • I can keep my test data in Google Spreadsheets.
  • AppSheet does a good job creating a first "raw" skeleton of a prototype app.
  • If you name your data fields in a good way, AppSheet will correctly guess many of your intentions and create some basic infrastructure and artifacts that will save you time.
  • AppSheet has enough configuration capabilities to turn a prototype into an "alpha version" of an app that you can use for demos to colleagues etc.
  • AppSheet primarily assumes data are in RDBMS/SQL systems, but it should be technically possible and certainly desirable to keep data in a hybrid data store, e.g. GOOGLE Firebase collections, if/when these are modeled similar to RDBMS tables. (Maybe this is already possible, but it was not obvious to me.)
  • The views, esp. "deck" and "card" views, should offer more layout configurations.
  • It would help a lot if the "Data" and "UX" menu items would allow a tree-like grouping of the objects.
Suited: Rapid prototyping of hybrid mobile apps that are primarily data apps. Less suited: Apps that must be sophisticated in layouts and visuals from day 1.

Day to day business use cases like shipping requests
  • Deployment to Computer as well as Mobile
  • Quick development of small applications
  • Build specific views for selected data
  • Clarity on why and how some functions work at a specific view but not at others
  • Usable links to specific views and screens to be clickable from emails received
Great app to build quick apps that are not too sophisticated, and deploy easily in your organization.

AppSheet can be used for small business applications or data maintenance which could not be automated or systematized due to small data volume or not critical process to Enterprise. It can be implemented for Enterprises who like to prototype process or screen before big massive IT development
  • No coding required even though a quite complex logic can be covered
  • Intuitive, easy design and deployment without in-depth database and IT knowledge
  • Ubiquitous data or system access on time, place and device
  • Filtering function on column (or data field)
  • Multiple automatic sum for numeric fields
  • Selection screen for report with massive data volume
Recommend Individual task based on data in Excel or spreadsheet or
For small and medium enterprises like to setup simple IT system with minimum cost, or
For big organization like to have prototypes before massive IT development and requires various feedback from project contributors/stakeholders

Appsheet has been used by several departments in the company to create a news update mobile application that makes the news searching and analyzing more convenient. Although I am just an intern in the digital analysis department, I confirm that the department does not use AppSheet for illegal purposes and to reassure that the application is for the use of communications between departments.
  • Easy to use features (4 out of 5) for tech users and developers who have basic background on computer programming logic. Moderate (3 out of 5) for other types of users.
  • Perfect UI and UX of the software, makes it easier to operate.
  • Free version is enough for small and personal projects.
  • Lack of theme and color ranges for the UI and UX
  • Some features are hard to use for normal users who do not quite understand programming logic.
  • Free version: For small projects and personal projects which do not require many complex features.
  • Paid version: Excellent for normal users who do not have much computer programming logic.

Good for prototyping

It is being used as a prototyping tool for development of applications. This tool has helped us to expand the scope of projects in a meaningful manner without any additional cost. It is likely to be used until we can find a different tool that can be used to generate HTML, JS, or CSS for our final product requirements in as simple a manner.
  • Its quick
  • Its accurate
  • Its fast
  • Scope for improvement in providing SQL-like language to slice and link various tables.
Excellent for prototyping and working from simple projects with just a Google spreadsheet as a starting point for the project. It is in my opinion not recommended for multiuser large enterprise scale projects which require a more robust mechanism for handling data and processes. It also lacks the ability to create workflows.

As one can imagine, managing the procedures within an aviation service organization is a challenging and complex task. Internal communication must occur precisely and effectively in order for external processes to operate without flaw. Because Aviation Services S.p.A. is often handling sensitive calculations about aircraft loads and balance, flight control, turnaround coordination, load movement, and passenger transport, the margin for error is nonexistent.

Until 3 Years ago, Aviation Services S.p.A. was operating these procedures via electronic data sheets and communicating the information to each other via phone. Marco suspected there might be a better way, and that’s when he found AppSheet.

The app's Marco built is called Synchro, and it’s designed to manage all of the figures responsible for processing and flight management.

Now that the process has been systemized via the use of the app, data entry and coordination is seamless. All of the data for each flight is now easily shared among responsible parties without the need to communicate verbally, thereby reducing the potential for human error.

In the aviation industry, there’s no room for that!

  • Easily connected with Google Spreadsheets.
  • The development of an application is quite easy and intuitive.
  • Technical support is efficient and quick.
  • It would be nice to have more chances to change UI.
  • I would like to have the ability to change the appearance as you do with Android Studio.
One of the best-use scenarios is updating databases with data stored in the app.

I am a surgeon in Sri Lanka. I currently work in the hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) unit at Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Sri Lanka. We get so many patients referred to our unit with various HPB conditions from all over the country and maintaining their clinical data has always been a challenge for us. The unit was using a Google sheet to maintain data on patients which was very cumbersome, mainly due to the difficulty in handling a large spreadsheet spread across a computer screen. Furthermore, we encounter patients at different locations in the hospital (clinics, wards, operation theatre, radiology department etc.) and the computer was at only one place, so going back to the computer to enter data was very impractical. All of this culminated in significant lapses in the patient data. Then, I found out about AppSheet and within a couple of months, I managed to make an HPB Database app that records patient details. I have made it in such a way that we now can record patient data on so many aspects, on multiple disease conditions over 20+ different tables and 300+ columns. People at AppSheet like Aleksi Alkio, Steve Coile, Reza Raoofi and users like Suvrutt Gurjar have helped me a lot to learn complex things within the app. It's an amazing app, and once you get the hang of expressions/simple codes/formulas, you can do awesome things in it!
  • It seamlessly records data on to a spreadsheet.
  • It helps in analyzing data within the app itself. Virtual columns are a godsend feature!
  • It has an amazing user community and customer support that helps you every single time you have an issue!
  • It constantly changes (in good ways) with frequent web platform updates.
  • Some wiggle room for UX design customization would be so great to have.
It's an amazing way to record data. If you have a lot of data to be saved on a spreadsheet and you want to do it on the go, AppSheet is the best platform for that!
